In Biomutant, players can change their character's appearance and abilities through a number of mutations, bionic prosthetics, and weapons. A kung fu-esque tale, players will leap and bound across the land facing off against enemies of all shapes & sizes. The post-apocalyptic setting sees players exploring a strange world where a plague is running rampant across the land, threatening everything in its wake.
The trailer shows off quite a few things at a rapid pace, beginning with a meditation scene by the main character. We then see him boarding an airship via a retracting anchor and using a sort of makeshift glider to soar above the treeline. The player character is shown to be quite agile, scaling up a sheer cliff face with relative ease. We're shown a few more different mechanical contraptions and devices the player could use. Generally, the combat seems to be focused on high-flying, fast-moving action. At the conclusion of the trailer, our hero is piloting a gigantic steampunk mech that gets swarmed by tiny penguin-like creatures before being brought to its knees before a gigantic monster in front of them.
An open world will feature a variety of different areas to explore, some of which will necessitate specialized equipment that allows you to survive in harsher environments. Players can craft said equipment alongside a number of different weapons to suit their desired playstyles. Along the way, you'll be able to choose whether you'll help heal a broken world or make it much worse than you had found it.
Biomutant is scheduled to release sometime in 2018 for the PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. For now, you can add the game to your wishlist on Steam.
