The Binding of Isaac multiplayer has been discovered in the latest DLC for the game, although it's not quite as good as you'd hope — The Binding of Isaac: Repentance co-op is still in testing and not yet officially released.
If you haven't yet played The Binding of Isaac, you've missed out on one of the most addictive twin-stick shooter roguelite games ever released. It loosely follows the biblical tale of Isaac who was nearly sacrificed to the Abrahamic god before being swapped out with a ram. It's certainly an entertaining experience, but it has officially been a single-player game for most of its life — and that could be changing very soon.
How to Play The Binding of Isaac Multiplayer
Playing The Binding of Isaac multiplayer is as easy as using the launch command "networktest" via this tutorial on Reddit. While you could do it with The Binding of Isaac: Repentance and play some co-op right now, it's probably not the best idea.
This new multiplayer launch command was discovered by a group of modders as reported on Reddit. Unfortunately, it's still in testing and there's no real promise of stability just yet; it appears to have been disabled without the use of the code, meaning it's not quite ready for prime time. That said, the existence of this multiplayer mode shows that it was being worked on at one point and may very well still be in development.
The Binding of Isaac has been somewhat lacking in official multiplayer for most of its life, but that's not to say that players haven't found a way around it anyway. It's been possible to play together for some time through the use of a program called Parsec, so much so that it has a webpage dedicated to the game.
For now, an official Binding of Isaac multiplayer release is a ways off judging by the instability issues in Repentance's co-op play. You can get the latest game in the franchise by buying The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth Complete Bundle for $32.96 or your regional equivalent.
