The Binding of Isaac is getting a final DLC pack, which will include an official version of a fan-made mod. Creator Edmund McMillen announced The Binding of Isaac: Repentance officially via Twitter, describing it as "the FINAL (for real this time) DLC for Isaac". The upcoming DLC will include the popular fan-made Antibirth mod, which adds a number of new rooms, enemies and secrets to the game, as well as a hidden final chapter for players to discover. McMillen is working closely with the creator of Antibirth to make changes and ensure the mod fits in with the main game's canon.

This DLC pack was originally teased by McMillen on Twitter a few days ago. McMillen tweeted a GIF of The Binding of Isaac's logo in which a knife falls from above to pierce the "I" in "Isaac". This is a reference to Antibirth's logo, which also has the "I" in "Isaac" pierced by a knife. The tweet simply said, "see you at pax!".

Several fans replied to the announcement tweet asking McMillen questions about The Binding of Isaac: Repentance, including who the composer would be for the DLC. Antibirth's original composer Mudeth will not be returning to score the game; instead, McMillen will be collaborating with The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth and Rebirth composer Planet Ridiculon, who also scored the developer's Isaac prequel The Legend of Bum-bo. McMillen says that Mudeth's music "is great, it just doesn't fit the themes [he's] going for".

McMillen also promises "a ton more content" alongside the official version of Antibirth. We know that Repentance will be paid DLC (it's "pretty beefy", according to McMillen), that it will feature a new soundtrack and new cutscenes alongside new story elements, and that no release date has yet been decided. Expect more news as and when we get it.

Dark Souls changed my life, and I'm here to spread the good news. I like pretty much all sorts of games, but I judge everything by its proximity to our Lord and saviour, Dark Souls.
