Beholder DLC Promo EN

The first moments after starting a new game in Beholder show a beat up man being dragged out of the building. His name is Hector and he was the landlord in charge of the apartment building in Krushvice 6 before the main character of the game, Carl Shteyn came along. What happened to Hector is never explained in the game aside for the knowledge that he let down the State and the Wise Leader. With the newly announced DLC named Blissful Sleep, Alawar and Warm Lamp Games aim to shed some light on the events that led to such an introduction.

Blissful Sleep is a story DLC that is set before the main Beholder campaign. It will follow the actions of Hector, former landlord of the State-owned apartment building set in Krushvice 6. The core gameplay loop of the DLC should be pretty similar to the one of the main game. Hector will have to spy on its tenants and report any illegal activities to the authorities. Of course, just like in the base game, things are not that easy and Hector will be forced to take important moral choices on a daily basis.

Blissful Sleep will add more complicated character backgrounds and shocking story twists to the game. New characters will come inhabit the vacant apartments in the building and will carry both their physical and emotional baggage with them. It will be up to the player to decide if Hector will be a nice government puppy or if taking care of his tenants should take the priority, in a dystopian world where laws are built to oppress the citizens instead of protecting them.

Beholder: Blissful Sleep is set to come out on Steam for PC, Mac, and Linux on May 18th of this year.
