Battlerite, the PvP arena brawler from Stunlock Studios, just came out from a free weekend and they closed it with a blast. During the free weekend, Battlerite managed to put together some impressive numbers and the game actually reached the number 1 spot of Steam's Global Top Sellers. Now that the weekend is over, Stunlock Studios is looking to the next updates, one of which is coming next week.
The free weekend has been a huge success for the game. Since its Early Access release on September 20, Battlerite sold more than 400,000 copies. In the past two days, 227,000 new players took advantage of the event to get their hands on this fast-action PvP brawler and try it firsthand. Considering that the game reached the top of the Global Top Sellers list, it would appear that quite a number of them liked it.
During the event, 264,430 unique players played a grand total of 1,201,948 matches on Battlerite, putting together almost 60 years of game time. Not bad for a game still in Early Access.
Just like any other multiplayer focused game, Battlerite will have a season-themed update for the winter holidays. The winter update will hit Steam the 14th of December and will include a number of fresh content. A new ranking system is coming as long as winter themed weapons for all the champions and the first legendary outfit to be added to the game.
A new champion will also be released with this update although no information has been made known about it at the moment. This will be the second champion added in the last two months after last month added Ezmo to the roster. Of course, the usual gameplay fixes, game polishing, and small balance changes will also be part of the update as usual.
