Battlefield Hardline Open Beta

The second open beta for Visceral Games' Battlefield Hardline is now live, worldwide, on PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. According to the official news feed the beta session will run from today to Sunday, February 8th.

Visceral Games has promised not to limit player progression so the open beta will not have a level cap. However any progress made in the open beta will be reset for the release in March. The open beta will feature three game modes and maps. The open beta will require around 11 gigabytes for download on PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The download for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 will be less than 4 gigabytes. The last generation consoles will have a 24-player cap for all maps. Players that own Battlefield 4 will receive an exclusive dog tag after taking part in the Battlefield Hardline open beta.

The beta will offer "Hotwire", a game mode that has criminals attempting to steal vehicles and travel to specific drop-offs before police can stop them. Hotwire mode will be available on the maps "Downtown" and "Dust Bowl". Another mode included in the open beta will be the classic zone-capture Battlefield mode "Conquest". This game mode will be available on the map "Dust Bowl". The third and final game mode will be "Heist" on the map "Bank Job". Heist is a factional game mode competing for two bags of money. Criminals must bring the money to one of two designated points, which are protected by police officers, before time runs out. Visceral Games has stated that the open beta will include a "hacker mode" on all maps and for all modes. This mode will allow one player on each team to take control of security cameras and track enemies.
