It's finally time: the Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance PC version has arrived, bringing classic Dungeons & Dragons action RPG to Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store.

Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance -- not to be confused with that other Dark Alliance game that got some DLC last month -- is a classic action RPG set within the Baldur's Gate universe. That game was only available on other consoles until a remaster was announced for modern systems. It was later announced for Nintendo Switch and arrived on that platform after a short delay; now, it's finally arrived on PC today!

Play With a Friend in the Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance PC Version

The Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance PC version is pretty much what you'd expect from this remaster. Of course, it features the same classic content of 3 classes, 11 spells, and 25 active and passive skills, but it's also brought improvements such as a full 4K scaling -- and it managed to do that on consoles.

Unfortunately, the one thing this update is lacking is the ability to play online according to a press release, at least on the GOG and Epic Games Store versions. The Steam version of the game, however, will be launching with Steam Remote Play support. That means that you'll be able to play it over the Internet with your friends despite its lack of official online multiplayer.

If you've been looking to jump into a new action RPG and don't mind a bit of a nostalgia trip, you can buy Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance for PC via Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store for $29.99 or your regional equivalent. Now all we have to do is cross our fingers and hope that Dark Alliance 2 gets the same great remaster treatment.
