Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2

The Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2 remaster is finally releasing on PC, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, along with the Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S on July 20, 2022. The hack and slash ARPG classic will be playable in up to 4K resolution and on the Steam Deck, which should be good fun on the go.

What is the Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2 remaster?

For those unfortunate souls who have been living under a rock, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2 is an ARPG that's based in and around the city of Baldur's Gate. The game features 5 playable classes, 80 levels, and dozens of locations to hack and slash through. Players can create custom weapons and armor and improve weapons by using runestones and gems. The game features four difficulty levels: "Easy", "Normal", "Hard" and "Extreme".

The five classes are barbarian, monk, necromancer, rogue or cleric, which players can choose from and subsequently fight through hordes of  Hobgoblins, Ghouls, Golems and Dragons while dodging traps and attacks as best they can. Just like the original, the Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance 2 remaster has local co-op, with the Steam version capable of using Remote Play for a long-distance co-op experience if you so desire.

If this sounds interesting to you, the game can currently be wishlisted on Steam and GOG, with the Microsoft, Nintendo, PlayStation and Epic Games store links going live soon. Word of advice: if you haven't played these games before, I'd check out the original Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance remaster first to get the full story, which is decent.
