The Baldur's Gate 3 Barbarian has been revealed and will be arriving in Patch 7 alongside UI improvements and new features.

Baldur's Gate 3 has been in Early Access development for over a year now. Its most recent update added the Sorceror along with the new Grymforge region. Now, the next class coming to the game has been revealed: get ready to play the Barbarian!

What We Know About the Baldur's Gate 3 Barbarian and Patch 7

Details about Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 7 were revealed in a Panel From Hell presentation (as is tradition), officially confirming the Baldur's Gate 3 Barbarian class (via Reddit).

The Barbarian class is best known for its rage ability which increases his stats and makes him resistant to damage. That latter ability allows a Barbarian to hold his ground against attacking enemies, making this class perfect for tank-style play. (If you're more about doing damage with a tanky character, you'd probably want to play a Fighter instead.)

Aside from the addition of the Barbarian, Patch 7 will feature a hefty overhaul of the game's user interface. This will allow you to manage your party's inventory, stats, spells, and everything else in a much more convenient fashion. If you're the type of player who likes to hoard items, you'll be happy to hear that new search and filtering options will also be available, making it easier than ever to find exactly what you need.

As this Reddit submission notes, some other changes will be coming in Patch 7, too. While the Darkvision system has gotten some improvements to make things a little clearer, you will no longer be able to see into unexplored rooms when a door is closed.

These are just some of the changes that are on the way; you can watch the VOD of the latest Baldur's Gate 3 Panel From Hell on Twitch; alternatively, you can watch it on YouTube at some point in the next few hours. You can buy Baldur's Gate 3 for PC via its official website for $59.99 or your regional equivalent -- make sure to check out our Beginner's Guide to help you get your journey started!
