Back 4 Blood

Trying to follow in the footsteps of Left 4 Dead series, Back 4 Blood still has many issues that it's trying to fix. Since its launch in October of last year, the game has received a mixed response with some very negative comments. Having the resources of Turtle Rock Studios, the devs could make changes to put this game on par with the far more popular Left 4 Dead 2. In response to the criticisms, they are adding in a new Back 4 Blood update that includes many notable changes. On top of adding new content, it will also affect elements of the campaign, weapon behavior, and online interaction but allowing players to kick each from their sessions.

Back 4 Blood June 2022 Update

Like its peers, Back 4 Blood is a co-op shooter that allows people to play locally or online. Considering that the game pits players against overwhelming hordes of difficult foes, teamwork is necessary to succeed. Unfortunately, the online community is not immune to toxicity with a number of players being uncooperative or choosing to work against the team. The June Back 4 Blood update finally addresses this by allowing for such players to be kicked from the session. At the moment, the devs explain that the system allows players to vote to kick other players that remain inactive for too long or do too much friendly damage. The devs will be monitoring its performance closely with the possibility of handing it over to the players in future updates.

Another new feature is called Full Deck Draw, where players will be able to play their full hand of 15 cards whenever they begin a campaign, changing how cards influence their overall run. The devs have also added content in the form of new cards, cosmetic items such as skins and banners, legendary accessories, and a more thorough Results Screen at the end of rounds.

The Back 4 Blood update also targets the campaign extensively. It works towards balancing by adjusting weapon drops to work with card effects and to balance with the new Full Deck Draw feature. Certain mission objectives have been altered to be more aesthetically pleasing with elements such as sound effects. Two of the Cleaners, Heng and Holly, have both received some tweaks involving their behavior and abilities.
