There's a bit of bad news for fans of zombie shooters: the Back 4 Blood release date has been delayed to later in 2021, forcing fans to wait a little longer for this Left 4 Dead spiritual successor.
Back 4 Blood was first revealed two years ago as a new game from the same people who created the original Left 4 Dead game. Things were relatively quiet behind the scenes until we got an explosive reveal at The Game Awards 2020.
Since then, the developers have had a stress test and let a lucky handful of people get their first taste of the game. Things were looking good and it was heading towards a release date sometime in 2021, but now it looks like we're all going to have to wait just a little bit longer to play it.
When is the Back 4 Blood Release Date?
The new Back 4 Blood release date is now October 12, 2021. This new release date was revealed in a statement on the game's official Twitter account.
Turtle Rock Studios is working hard to make Back 4 Blood the best game it can possibly be at launch and the team needs more time to do this. Therefore, we will release Back 4 Blood on October 12, 2021. We thank our community for its continued support and are excited to share that there will be an open beta this summer.
Back 4 Blood originally planned to launch earlier in the year. In lieu of this, the developers will be holding an open beta test over the summer. While you'll have to wait for the full game, you will at least get another chance to play it before it launches later in the year.
For now, you can pre-purchase Back 4 Blood on Steam for $59.99 or your regional equivalent and get ready for this upcoming spiritual successor to Left 4 Dead. Don't forget to check out the game's official website and join its Discord server!
