The Back 4 Blood December 2021 Update has been revealed, introducing Offline Campaign with Progression, new Campaign features, Card changes, and more.
Back 4 Blood has been out for a little over two months now. First announced back in 2019, the game was eventually delayed to late 2021 and finally launched in October of this year -- just in time for Halloween. Now, a new major update has been detailed that makes a whole bunch of changes and additions.
What's New in the Back 4 Blood December 2021 Update?
The Back 4 Blood December 2021 Update kicks things off with the addition of the Offline Campaign with Progression, fulfilling one of the promises laid out in its roadmap -- although that's far from the only new feature.
New Supply Lines have arrived that give you the opportunity to get some new unlocks with your Supply Points. One of these new unlocks are Burn Cards, a Card that can give you temporary effects such as instant healing, increasing resistances, and more.
Core mechanics have had a whole bunch of tweaks. Changes to player acceleration and brake friction should make you feel a little bit more responsive. A higher level of precision has been added, too; this will hopefully reduce friendly fire incidents. Turtle Rock Studios has also rebalanced the challenge of the game across all difficulties. The changes vary, but these are largely buffs for the players that should take some of the edge off regardless of how you play.
A number of Card Changes, Swarm PVP fixes, and other improvements are also coming in this update; you can read about all of the new goodies on the way in the full Back 4 Blood December 2021 Update patch notes (via Reddit).
When is the Back 4 Blood December 2021 Update Release Date?
The Back 4 Blood December 2021 Update release date is December 16, 2021, at 1:00 PM Eastern -- that's tomorrow!
This update reverses some of the less popular changes that were made in the November 2021 Update; it goes to show that Turtle Rock Studios is listening to the concerns of its playerbase. If you have a hankering to shoot some zombies, you can buy Back 4 Blood on PC and consoles starting at $59.99 or your regional equivalent via its official website.
