Babylon has been announced as the next new civilization coming to the Civilization 6 New Frontier Pass. Naturally, some other goodies are on the way too — including 24 new Great People and the new Heroes & Legends Mode.

The newest game in the Sid Meier's Civilization franchise has somewhat bucked the trend of its predecessors with the introduction of the New Frontier Pass, a yearlong Season Pass that adds several new civilizations, characters, and game modes. The next new civilization has finally been revealed and it's sure to mix things up nicely!

Check out the latest Civilization 6 New Frontier Pass developer video to see everything coming in the next update!

What We Know About Babylon in Civilization 6

Babylon has been revealed as the next new civilization being added to the game. The absence of the Babylonians in Civilization 6 was rather conspicuous considering that it's been in every core Civilization game to date.

Unfortunately, the developers are keeping the details about this new civilization under wraps until a later video. They did insinuate, however, that science will be a critical focus of this new civilization.

What Else is Coming to the Civilization 6 New Frontier Pass?

Mum's the word on Babylon, but the developers were all too happy to reveal some of the other content that's on the way. First on deck is six new city-states — one of each type. Each new city-state will have a unique perk.

24 new Great People are also being added in this update. The poet Rumi and the anthropologist Margaret Mead were highlighted as two of the new additions; there are also some "less-familiar" and "underrepresented" Great People coming in this update.

The most interesting new addition, however, is the new Heroes & Legends Mode. Legendary figures are said to be "Great People on steroids." Each of these heroes has unique special abilities, somewhat akin to heroes in real-time strategy games. For example, King Arthur has the ability to transform a nearby unit into a unique Heavy Cavalry Unit. Other heroes will include Hercules, Beowulf, Maui, Himiko, Oya, and the Mayan twins Hunahpu & Xbalanque.

When Does Babylon Come to Civilization 6?

Babylon (and all of the other new content) comes to the Civilization 6 New Frontier Pass on November 19, 2020. The developers say that there will be another update for the next stage of the New Frontier Pass sometime in December 2020.

It's never been a better time to get into Civilization 6 — especially because it's on sale! You can buy Civilization 6 on Steam for just $14.99 or your regional equivalent, a 75% discount off of its normal price of $39.99. If you want to enjoy all of this new content, though, you'll have to grab the New Frontier Pass for $39.99.

What do you think of the Babylonians finally coming to Civilization 6? Do you think you'll enjoy the new Heroes & Legends Mode? Let us know in the comments below!
