A new rating from the Australian Government's Department of Communications and the Arts suggest that a new Castlevania collection may be on its way. The new classification was filed on March 12th and states that the game will be multi-platform and contains mild violence, fantasy themes, and very mild nudity. The rating was applied for by Konami themselves which is a pretty good indicator that the game exists and is the real deal, although no official announcement has been made by the company yet.

Although the content of the game is not yet known, many fans of the series are hoping to have a compilation of games from its inception right up to the N64/PS1 era. It is unlikely however that the new collection will include either Symphony of the Night or Rondo of Blood as both of these games were recently released in a collection of their own for PlayStation 4. A new Castlevania collection might bring the early days of the series together on modern consoles for the first time, something of a trend in gaming in recent years with games like Spyro the Dragons and Crash Bandicoot both receiving not just collections but full on remakes with their respective trilogies bundled together.

With the Castlevania series' 33rd anniversary coming up this September it is possible that the game may release around that time, or at the very least we should receive more information by then. As it stands we know very little about the game, and although it is down as 'multi-platform' there is no word if that includes either PC or Nintendo Switch releases as of yet. With a title like 'Castlevania Anniversary Collection,' you can bet it's going to be something to do with the series' history as a whole.
