Sony has now revealed the titles for August's lineup of PlayStation Plus titles. While it might seem that it's a bit late considering August has already begun these games will first become available to PS+ subscribers on the first Tuesday of the month so you still have a bit of time to go back and make sure you've redeemed everything for July's PlayStation Plus too.
PlayStation 4 owners will gain access to two big games; Mafia III, and Dead By Daylight. While Mafia III is continuing the franchise this game takes place with new characters in a new city, New Orleans. Lincoln Clay returns home from being in Vietnam and seeing real combat only to have his surrogate family killed by the local Italian Mafia. While seeking revenge for those taken from you, it's up to you to build up a new family and position yourself best for taking out those responsible. We gave this game an 8/10 praising it for its great characters, strong story, and fantastic soundtrack while also noting some of the graphical glitches and repetitive side quests. The second game available on PlayStation 4 is the 4v1 horror game Dead by Daylight, take the role of one of the 4 survivors or as one of the many horror monsters. As a monster, it's your goal to track down and sacrifice each of the survivors before they are able to turn on all of the generators and open the gates to their freedom. This game includes mostly original monsters like a wraith, a nurse, and a clown as well as characters from pop fiction like Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, and Amanda Young (Jigsaw's pig mask-wearing apprentice from the Saw series.)
For the PlayStation 3 in the RPG Bound By Flame, you play as a mercenary who has been possessed by a flame demon. Emphasis is put on the decisions that you make in this game as certain choices you make will lead to real consequences; Will you let the demon run wild, or will you reclaim your humanity? You can level up your character along three different skill trees; focus on power with the path of the fighter, learn the ways of stealth as a Ranger, or use the abilities of your dark passenger and control flames as a Pyromancer. Serious Sam 3: BFE is the second PlayStation 3 game available, this serves as a prequel to Serious Sam: The First Encounter and takes place during the Mental's invasion of the Earth set in Egypt in the 22nd century. Like other Serious Sam titles gameplay is fast-paced FPS action where you'll fight waves upon waves of enemies. With 13 weapons including two melee options, you'll have to use all your skill to stay alive.
Draw Slasher for the PlayStation Vita lets you use your finger to control a Ninja, After your family is kidnapped by the Pirate Monkey Zombies you'll need to take the fight to them to reclaim them. In this side-scroller, you choose where your ninja moves and attacks by swiping across the screen. Don't expect to just be able to slash wildly though as you also need to navigate any of the traps and dodge away from your enemies attack too. Set in the universe of Warhammer 40,000 Space Hulk is a turn-based strategy game where you command a squad of Space Marine Terminators trying to assault a derelict Space Hulk attempting to reclaim the relic "Sin of Damnation."
That's not all either as the bonus PlayStation VR title Here They Lie is being included as well as trivia game Knowledge is Power, one of the games that use the PlayStation Play Link service allowing you and your friends to go head to head using your mobile phones as controllers.
