Nvidia has released the gameplay trailer for the upcoming FPS title Atomic Heartand with it, we see 4K graphic quality, intense combat sequences, and more context as to what to expect from the game.

For those who may not know, Atomic Heart is an upcoming action-adventure FPS where players embark on a treacherous journey through a sublime subtopian world. Collecting weaponry, using helpful items, and adapting your fighting style to match any opponent that stands in your way is the key to success.

As most people know, AI might just be the downfall of the human race. We all know someone with that fear that robots will rise up and attack us in our sleep. Personally, I like to imagine my Roomba sprouting legs and scaling walls and shooting lasers if it were to ever decide to become sentient and revolt.

Atomic Heart takes that fear and makes it a reality (at least in the game), where robots once lived in harmony among humans, and were very loyal to those who owned them. Now, robots have evolved and taken on a more macabre form, becoming mutants with a taste for violence. These superpowered robots have had enough of our nonsense, and decide that together they can overtake us and force us to become their loyal subjects.

In the trailer, which you can enjoy below, we see the beginning of the end, where everything is serene and quiet as the robots live among us. In an instant, we see that things change dramatically when the player begins to shoot an electrified weapon at the robots we once shared our homes with. Hordes of technologically advanced sentient bots now pour into the room, and it is up to us, the player, to uncover what exactly went wrong and how to fix it in order to bring peace back to our world.

Atomic Heart is set to release February 21, 2023, on PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox X|S
