Astro's Playroom is a brand new action-platformer revealed at Sony's PlayStation 5 reveal event. It appears that Sony's little robot mascot will be continuing its reputation of showing off the possibilities of Sony's new hardware. On the PlayStation 4's launch, Astro was the lead in an application called The Playroom, which took advantage of the PlayStation Camera and the Dualshock 4's light sensor to show off the possibilities of augmented reality gaming. When the PSVR headset came out, Astro Bot Rescue Mission came out, a vibrant and colorful platformer meant to showcase the possibilities of Sony's foray into VR gaming. Now it appears that Astro's Playroom will continue this tradition on the PlayStation 5, as it is yet another adorable and vibrant platformer, but this time it will be taking full advantage of the controller's brand new Dualsense haptic feedback sensor.

As the trailer shows, it appears that playing Astro's Playroom will be more than just an audiovisual experience. Wind blowing on Astro will be felt through the controller, droplets of rain will peck at the hands as they roll off of Astro's metal body, jolts of electricity will be felt through the buttons as well as Astro's body as he is struck by lightning. Even more features will be revealed in this game spread out over four unique worlds, based on the PlayStation 5's very console components.

And the best part of all is that all of this will be available right out of the box. Not only will Astro's Playroom be free to play, but it will come pre-loaded on every single Playstation 5 system, allowing players a taste of what is possible with this brand new step into the next generation of gaming all through the lens of a cute and fun for all ages 3D platformer that anyone can enjoy.
