If you're up for a bit of swashbucklin' this holiday season, you can get Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag free on UPlay until December 18, 2017, according to a news post on the Ubiblog from earlier this month.

Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag has you take on the role of notorious Welsh pirate Edward Kenway, a master assassin who sails the Carribean waters hunting for ships to ransack and the occasional safe port. Unlike many games in the Assassin's Creed series, the open world opens up somewhat earlier and allows the player a greater degree of freedom than you might get in a city. (The ocean is rather large, after all.) A pirate isn't much without his ship, and the Jackdaw will fill that role for you. You can recruit crew and explore a number of interesting locales in the region, all in the midst of the ongoing Assassin/Templar war.

To get the game, you'll need to have a UPlay account. Existing account holders will need to simply log onto the service to claim their copy of the game. If you don't have a UPlay account, you can create one and snap up your free copy right away. Of course, to actually play Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag you'll have to download the UPlay digital distribution client to play it.

Sales are sure to be aplenty for the 2017 holiday season, but it's awful hard to beat "free" when it comes to discounts. You can grab Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag free on UPlay by visiting this page on Ubisoft's website and creating a UPlay account (or logging in with an existing one).

Are you going to grab Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag free on UPlay or would you prefer to have it on another platform? What's your favorite thing about the game? Let us know in the comments below!
