The Ashen Nightstorm Isle DLC has been announced by A44 Games. This brand new bit of DLC for A44 Games' Souls-like pits you against a "new breed of Bral" on the titular island. Here is the description of the DLC as noted by the developers:
The wanderer accompanies a mother on a quest to find her lost daughter. Venturing far from familiar ash covered shores, players descend into the perilous depths of Nightstorm Isle. Countless horrors lurk below, yet nothing will prepare you for the ancient evil they imprison.
That's not all they released, mind! There's also a pretty cool trailer that gives us a good look at what to expect. You won't have to wait too long to play this, either — it comes to the Epic Games Store and Xbox One on September 6, 2019.
Ashen Nightstorm Isle DLC Trailer
The trailer kicks off with some shots of abandoned structures on an island and the player exploring some cave art. Sunlight creeps in to a few places, but the locations get gradually darker as he moves on. We see a few flashes of combat in these new areas interspersed with various locales before the trailer is over all too soon, closing with a logo drop and the release date for this DLC.
Two things aren't entirely clear about this DLC, though — is this going to be a free update or a paid experience? Furthermore, will this come to Steam, Switch and PlayStation 4 when it launches on those systems or will there be a short delay? We've reached out to the developer for comment on this matter.
You'll be able to get the Ashen Nightstorm Isle DLC when it launches on September 6, 2019. In the meantime, you can pick up the base game right now on the Epic Games Store at a price of $39.99 or your regional equivalent. If you'd prefer it on Steam, you won't have to wait too long for that — it's set to launch on Valve's digital distribution platform on December 9, 2019.
Update: A tweet from the developers states that the Ashen Nightstorm Isle DLC will be simultaneously launching on Steam, GOG, the PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch on December 9, 2019.
