Arnold Schwarzenegger's Dutch is Coming to Predator: Hunting Grounds

After 33 years, Arnold Schwarzenegger is returning to the Predator franchise via his character Dutch in Predator: Hunting Grounds.

As the games first paid DLC, IllFonic, the developers of Predator: Hunting Grounds, spent a day with Schwarzenegger recording the action star. There will be a Predator: Hunting Grounds free update where players will listen via voice tapes as to where Dutch has been for 33 years. They will be earned as the player levels up, giving them something to look forward to. One tape has Dutch talking about how the tapes are his "personal assurance" that if something were to happen to him, then what he's found won't be lost.

The paid DLC will allow players to play as Dutch and give players early access to the QR5 "Hammerhead" Rifle and Dutch's Knife, with the weapons being available for free for players in June.

The Paid DLC will be available May 26, and there will be at least 3 more months of DLC for players to enjoy. This will include things such as themed character packs while the free update will add new weapons and game modes.

Predator Hunting Grounds Update Cadence

Quick Take:

This is a pretty cool idea. It's something that fans of the series will undoubtedly love to see, and it seems like a lore-appropriate way to bring him back. Hearing Arnold Schwarzenegger act is always a treat, and having him as a war-weary hero is something that he's always been good at portraying. He's a good sport, so while it may not mean much to him, it'll mean a lot to a lot of people, so it's nice that he did this. Hopefully there'll be a moment where he yells at players to "get to the choppa," but we'll see.

A very unflattering picture of my tired face.
