Apex Legends Spellbound Collection Event

Today Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment revealed the Spellbound Collection Event that will soon hit the free-to-play battle royale-hero shooter Apex Legends

The update will it on January 10 and will bring back Control mode for a limited time, featuring  9 vs. 9 with infinite respawns and fights to control zones on the maps. Said maps will be Storm Point: Barometer, World's Edge: Lava Siphon, and Olympus: Hammond Labs.

Incidentally, the mode will be updated with changes including a 150XP end-of-match rewards, an extension to the ability to join in progress, and more.

The event will also bring 24 cosmetics to unlock, also available only until the end of the event. These will include legendary skins for Vantage, Seer, Mad Maggie, Mirage, and more. You can take a look in the trailer below.

All players will also be able to create private matches generating their own tournament codes to invite up to sixty players and five observers to participate.

Of course, you can also expect changes to the crafting rotation and a number of tweaks and bug fixes that tend to accompany every patch besides the main content.

If you'd like to learn more, you can check out the full patch notes on the official website.

Apex Legends is currently available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Origin and Steam. It's free-to-play, so you can jump in without spending a dime, but of course, it features the inevitable optional microtransactions.

It's one of the most-played games in the world, having passed 100 million players in early 2022.

If you prefer single-player games, Respawn Entertainment is currently working on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which will launch in March as a sequel to the highly-praised Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
