The Apex Legends Season 11 Update is now live on PC and consoles. Rather unsurprisingly, the latest Update and Battle Pass for Respawn's Battle Royale hasn't had the smoothest launch.

The latest Apex Legends Update features the return of the temporarily removed Pride badge and the debut of the new Legend Ash. Thus far, the game appears to have avoided the server issues that plagued the mid-Season 10 event, too. Unfortunately, it appears that there are still a fair few problems with the Apex Legends Season 11 Update.

Apex Legends Season 11 Launch Marred by Oversights and Weird Xbox Glitches

The Apex Legends Season 11 launch has a couple of notable problems right out of the gate, the first of which is affected Xbox players. Several players report that the game is being flagged as "ready to play" after updating when that is clearly not the case; there are several posts on the game's subreddit showing glitches, missing textures on the character select screen and in the game world. Players on that console should probably wait until the update is fully downloaded.

Additionally, there's a minor issue with the loot tables: the Double Tap Trigger Hop-Up is appearing as standalone loot. There's just one tiny issue with this: the G7 Scout has become a Supply Drop weapon and it already comes equipped with Double Tap Trigger. This Hop-Up can only be used with that gone, so some players may end up finding some truly useless loot, unfortunately.

Finally, there's an interesting feature making use of an old Easter egg. Previously, players might discover a loot box with the name of a developer. These loot boxes return in the Prowler dens on the new Storm Point map. Unfortunately, one player reports that a developer Death Box still exists for the game's former Lead Balance Developer who was fired due to offensive posts he made on social media. We've been through several dozen Death Boxes, though, and have to discover it firsthand or find a secondary source.

Despite Its Problems, Apex Legends Season 11 is Plenty of Fun

Aside from the handful of launch issues, the Apex Legends Season 11 Update has been uncharacteristically smooth in terms of actual playability. The servers don't particularly appear to have any major issues with lag (at least on the East Coast of the United States) and the new map is a boatload of fun.

The new map -- first discovered by dataminers earlier this year -- isn't the only new goodie. A brand-new Loba skin has debuted as part of her signature edition of the game. Naturally, there's also a new Battle Pass for all of those cosmetic hounds out there.

This update also adds a dash of story through "Episodes." These text stories are available in the Battle Pass menu and will detail some of Ash's history with the other legends; further parts of the story will unlock over the course of the Season 11 Battle Pass.

The update also features a major rework of Wattson and tons of other balance changes and bug fixes; you can read about all of the new goodies in the Apex Legends Season 11 Update patch notes. You can join in on the fun yourself by playing Apex Legends for free on PC and consoles via its official website.
