The pirate-themed Apex Legends Raiders Collection Event arrives next week, and that's not all -- the Winter Express is returning and Wattson is finally getting an Heirloom.

Today looks like a big day for EA! Aside from recently announcing ambitious plans to create a shared Battlefield universe, the fine folks at Respawn Entertainment have also revealed some fun holiday surprises for Apex Legends players by bringing fun new content to Season 11 -- starting with a brand-new Collection Event (and associated cosmetics, natch).

Set Sail With the Apex Legends Raiders Collection Event

The Apex Legends Raiders Collection Event is bringing pirate-themed skins to the game along with quite a few discounts on skins and bundles. Each of the Legendary Skins in the event will have a complementary weapon to go with it.

Bloodhound, Loba, Revenant, Valkyrie, Wattson, and Wraith will be getting event-limited Legendary cosmetics for this event. If you're not keen on spending money, you'll also have the option to participate in the free portion of the Apex Legends Raiders Collection Event.

As you can see in the above image, a 5,000-point tracker will launch with the event that will give players the opportunity to earn gun charms, gun skins, and a skin for Crypto. Players will be able to earn 1,600 points per day with challenges that refresh daily.

In addition, there are four "stretch challenges" that can unlock unique pirate-themed badges; you can read more about what's coming in this event in today's announcement.

When is the Apex Legends Raiders Collection Event Start Date?

The Apex Legends Raiders Collection Event start date is December 7, 2021; this event will last until December 21, 2021.

The Apex Legends Winter Express Returns

The Apex Legends Raiders Collection Event isn't the only fun content on the way -- a fan-favorite classic is returning with the relaunch of the Winter Express.

Winter Express is an LTE that puts players on a special holiday-themed version of World's Edge that actually has a functional train. All players begin the game with preset equipment and must skydive from a floating dropship in an attempt to capture and hold a moving train. Successfully clear the train of enemies (and hold it!) and you'll win the game.

This time, however, the Winter Express game mode is getting some changes -- squads will be able to pick their loadouts for the first time ever. It certainly sounds like it's going to be a lot more interesting this time around!

Get Ready for the Wattson Heirloom 'Energy Reader'

There's one more surprise for the Apex Legends Raiders Collection Event: the Wattson Heirloom "Energy Reader" will be debuting.

Heirlooms as special melee weapons that are unique to each Legend. Not every Legend has an Heirloom; for example, September 2021's Evolution Collection Event saw the debut of Rampart's Heirloom.

Players who unlock all 24 collectibles in the Raiders Collection Event will get the Wattson Heirloom for free. If you miss out, you'll most likely be able to purchase it with Heirloom Shards in the usual fashion -- that is, if you can get them.

All of this fun new content will be launching early next week on December 7, 2021. You can join in on the fun by playing Apex Legends for free on PC and consoles via its official website.
