It Looks Like Season 8 Might Be the Launch of a New Platform

The Apex Legends Nintendo Switch release date has been reportedly revealed in the YouTube description of its latest trailer, targeting a launch for the day that Season 8 begins in early February 2021.

Earlier today, Apex Legends revealed the new Legend Fuse in the latest episode of Stories from the Outlands. Launching a new Legend at the start of a new Season is par for the course with this particular Battle Royale game, but it seems that someone at EA might have slipped up and announced the game's Nintendo Switch launch in the description of this trailer in several foreign regions.

When is the Apex Legends Nintendo Switch Release Date?

The Apex Legends Nintendo Switch release date is reportedly February 2, 2021, although we can't be 100% certain that Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts will deliver on this day.

The Apex Legends News Twitter account (run by Dexerto) reports (via @ApexLegendsWiki) that the Japanese YouTube description included a little extra text that wasn't revealed in the English-language version of the trailer:

"And on February 2nd, it will be possible to play on Switch at the same time as the start of Season 8!" read the reported text as translated by Dexerto.

Several replies to that same Twitter thread note that the same Apex Legends Nintendo Switch release date of February 2, 2021, was included in other languages as well. Multiple users report that the Danish, Russian, and Spanish descriptions have also mentioned that same release date.

Unfortunately, subsequent reporting notes that this language was removed from these descriptions shortly thereafter. It's possible that this text may have been included by mistake, but it could also mean that the announcement of a Nintendo Switch release date was unintentionally revealed early. We've reached out to Electronic Arts for comment; for now, you can play Apex Legends for free via its official website.

Do you think Apex Legends will launch on the Nintendo Switch on the Season 8 start date? Do you think the game will run well on the console? Let us know in the comments below!
