The latest Apex Legends collection event has been announced. It's titled Imperial Guard Collection Event and not only there are 24 new items to collect in order to get your hands on a brand new heirloom but a new game mode to boot.

The look of the skins that come with the latest collection event is pretty neat, as they sport that Samurai style to showcase your inner warrior. The new game mode that came with the event, Mixtape, is a permanent playlist featuring a rotation of different game modes in itself. This includes Team Deathmatch, Control, and Gun Run allowing players to hone in on their skills in several different ways rather than the run-of-the-mill Battle Royale.

Mixtape will also be launching within the Custom Matches mode on March 7, 2023, and the developers state they will also be changing up the requirements for matches to begin. Here are the changes listed:

  • Players needed to start Battle Royale Mode: 30
  • Players needed to start Team Deathmatch mode: 12
  • Players needed to start Control Mode: 6
  • Players needed to start Gun Run: 6

The Imperial Guard Collection Event will come with 24 new cosmetic items to unlock by using Apex Coins or Crafting Metals, or by purchasing the Imperial Guard Collection Event Apex Packs until the event ends. Players will also be happy to hear that they can craft the Collection Event items for half the cost of Crafting Metals. This means it will cost half the amount of previous collection events in order to unlock Wraith’s Hope’s Dawn Kunai, a small and mighty blade with firey accents. If you already have the OG Kunai, it will automatically update with the new animations and effects that come with the Hope's Dawn release.

The Imperial Guard collection event will begin on March 7, 2023, and end on March 21, 2023.

Apex Legends is currently available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Origin and Steam.
