An Apex Legends Halloween event may very well be on the way. A leaker says that he's uncovered references to something called "Fight or Fright" in the game's code along with a boatload of information about what we can expect to see.

According to a tweet from @Shrugtal, the Apex Legends Halloween event, a reference to "Shadowfall" (presumed to be a new map) exists in the code, although a casual examination of it shows that it could also be a game mode. The code also contains a line stating, "Escape on the drop-ship 1%s1`0 times in `1Shadowfall", lending credence to either theory.

Of course, a game like Apex Legends is also going to have special cosmetics for its event — and this leak doesn't disappoint.

Rumored Apex Legends Halloween skins

Rumored Apex Legends Halloween Skins

So far, four images of potential skins have popped up on Reddit (first thread, second thread),not counting the Wraith image shared by the leaker's tweet). These skins for the new character Crypto along with Wraith, Mirage, and Wattson all have a Halloween theme to them.

What is mildly more interesting, however, is references to something called the 'Lifeline Heirloom Set" in the leaked game code:

The Lifeline Heriloom Set can only be unlocked directly after obtaining and unlocking all Fight or Fright Collection Pack cosmetics during the Fight or Fright Collection Event at no additional cost. Once the Fight or Fright Collection Event ends, the Lifeline Heirloom Set will be available via Apex Packs. Apex Pack openings only count towards the pack Bonus Heriloom Set opening limit when there are eligible Heriloom Sets available in the Apex Pack bonus pool.

As one might expect, these cosmetics are also going to be limited to the event.

All Fight or Fright Collection cosmetics are Event Limited. These items may return in a future event or promotion.

Odds are good that we'll be getting an event for Apex Legends this Halloween, but don't forget that this is a leak that we haven't been able to independently verify. As always, take this information with a grain of salt. We're sure to hear something definitive about what the event may be in the near future.
