After a short buildup of rumors, the Apex Legends Fight or Fright Limited-Time Collection Event has been confirmed. This special in-game event will give players the opportunity to score some sweet cosmetics and play a time-limited game mode called "Shadowfall".

A news post on the game's official website details the Apex Legends Fight or Fright Limited-Time Collection Event. Players will have a whole bunch of fun activities to do in the leadup to Halloween!

Shadowfall Heads Up Apex Legends Fight or Fright

The big-ticket reveal in the Apex Legends Fight or Fright event is something that Respawn Entertainment is calling "Shadowfall". This is a special game mode that gets a little... spooky.

Players queue up in Solos along with 34 opponents in total and drop into a darkened King's Canyon map. The opening moments play much like any other game of Apex Legends with you trying to eliminate the enemy players as fast as possible. Once someone dies, however, the twist comes in.

Dead players will respawn as an undead version of their Legend and join the "Shadow Squad". Shadow Squad players can't wield weapons or use their abilities, but they gain a powerful melee attack, the ability to climb walls, unlimited respawns, and increased movement and jump speed.

Once things get down to ten living players, the in-fighting comes to a stop and they have to face off against the 25 members of the Shadow Squad. The living players must make it to an evac ship while the Shadow Squad tries their darnedest to stop them.

Apex Legends Double XP Weekend and Lifeline Heirloom Set

Finally, a special sort of Double XP weekend will be coming during the event and a Lifeline Heirloom set will be available. The special weekend will award Double XP for getting Top 5 or a Win from October 25, 2019, at 1:00 PM EST until October 28, 2019.

As for the Lifeline Heirloom Set, you'll only be able to get it as a direct unlock during the event's preview. You'll have to complete the Fight or Fright Collection during the event; it cannot be awarded through any of the Fight or Fright packs. After that, it will be made available in regular Apex Packs after the conclusion of the event.

The Apex Legends Fight or Fright event kicks off on October 15, 2019, and ends on November 5, 2019.

I've had a controller in my hand since I was 4 and I haven't stopped gaming since. CCGs, Tabletop Games, Pen & Paper RPGs - I've tried a whole bunch of stuff over the years and I'm always looking to try more!
