Apex Legends Celestial Sunrise Collection Even

Today Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment revealed the Celestial Sunrise Collection Event that will soon hit the free-to-play battle royale-hero shooter Apex Legends

The event launches on January 24 and will be available in the game until February 7. Perhaps the biggest element introduced is a new limited-time mode titled Hardcore Royale, similar to trios but with a few twists listed below.

  • Limited HUD
  • White Armor Only
  • No Helmets
  • Armor doesn’t spawn in Deathboxes (No Armor Swapping)
  • Ring starts at max Damage

Like ranked play, you'll need your account to be level 20 or above to access Hardcore Royale.

Of course, there'll also be plenty of limited-time cosmetics to unlock themed after the Lunar New Year and the Year of the Rabbit, including legendary skins for Octane, Pathfinder, Caustic, Ash and more. Unlocking all 24 items before the event ends will net you "Jadeite Retribution”, a new skin for Reactive Peacekeeper.

Below you can take a look at some of the new items in the event's trailer.

Interestingly, we also get a glimpse of the future. After the event concludes on February 7, we'll get another limited-time mode called "Date Night" obviously themed after Valentine's Day. It comes with an unique healing mechanic that lets you share healing items with your duos partner. A new limited time weapon called The Heart Stealerwill also be coming with the ability to heal you with a portion of the damage you deal.

If you'd like to learn more about the Celestial Sunrise Collection Event, you can check out the announcement on the official website.

Apex Legends is currently available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Origin and Steam. It's free-to-play, so you can jump in without spending any money, but of course, it features the inevitable optional microtransactions.

It's also one one of the most-played games in the world, having passed 100 million players in early 2022.

If you prefer single-player games, Respawn Entertainment is currently working on Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, which will launch in March as a sequel to the highly-praised Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.
