This morning Headup Games, the creators of the physics puzzle game Bridge Constructor, have announced that their next product will require them to apply a coat of Aperture paint and to start thinking with portals in Bridge Constructor Portal.

The basic premise of the game is that Aperture Laboratories is still doing what they do best, testing. Not wanting to be limited to only testing humans there is now a series of vehicle test chambers. A trailer was released along with the announcement with the familiar narration of GLaDOS welcoming you as a test participant while also ensuring you understand that this will be a dangerous process.

In this game, you will be required to build a way for a vehicle to safely get to the end of each of the levels. Unlike the original game where you only had physics to worry about Portal inspired elements such as the differently colored gels and, of course, portals will be at your disposal too. From what we see in the trailer there will also be some puzzles that you can complete by just making a bridge, but where's the fun in that?

Bridge Constructor Portal will be arriving onto Windows, Mac, Linux, and mobile devices on the 20th of December with console releases for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch following up in early 2018.

Quick Take

When rumors started flying yesterday about a potential Portal announcement it's hard to not get your hopes up. Reflecting more on it though for those who enjoy the world of Aperture Labs this is a pretty great setup to have vehicle test chambers. While personally I probably won't get it, I look forward to all the strange GIF creations that will inevitably appear around the internet.

What do you think of Bridge Constructor Portal? Are you looking forward to seeing what you can achieve in the vehicle test chambers? Were you a fan of Headup's original title? Share your thoughts in the comments below!
