With COVID-19 not allowing for festivals of any sort to occur this year, organizers have turned to video games such as Animal Crossing: New Horizons instead. Apparently this in-game festival will be included within the Global Pride 2020 festivities throughout June.

The actual Global Pride festival in of itself is set up to reflect upon and celebrate worldwide diversity of those within the Pride community. Below is a quote from the Global Pride Crossing organisers:
"Pride is an incredibly important moment in the calendar for LGBTI+ people, as it offers the community a chance to freely express their identity in a very public way. However, we all knew that this year's Pride celebrations were never going to be the same, with communities all over the world still in various stages of lockdown," said Andrew Baker, co-president of InterPride.
So when We Are Social approached us with the idea to create a virtual space, using a platform already popular within the LGBTI+ community, where people could safely come together to express and celebrate their identities – we jumped at the chance."
The in-game festival will take place on Pride Island, which is an in-game island (which will offer Pride-themed clothing, a rainbow march, a hall of fame, and a catwalk) that has been specifically built for Pride Month. It will begin on June 18 and run for the rest of the month.
On June 27 there will be Twitch streams that will share their islands and visit other player islands to celebrate the Pride movement and raise money for Pride organisations that have been affected by COVID-19.
