Animal Crossing: New Horizons has proven to be exactly the kind of escapism we all need during these troubled times. Good news if you're enjoying the game: new seasonal updates are working their way to Nintendo's blissful life sim starting in a couple of days.
The new updates are all themed around spring and focus on allowing players to appreciate the game's natural landscapes, as well as some seriously cool artwork. These free updates - as well as others that are on the way later this year - mean you'll be able to keep playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons for a good while. Looks like your Switch won't get that much-needed rest just yet.
What seasonal updates are coming to Animal Crossing: New Horizons?
Here's a list of everything working its way to the game in the next few months.
- April 23rd - Leif's Garden Shop - nature-loving Leif will be visiting your island regularly to sell an assortment of shrubs, flower seeds, and other flora.
- April 23rd - Jolly Redd's Treasure Trawler - after you've downloaded a free update, Jolly Redd will turn up in his boat from time to time, selling you furniture and artwork. Just like in other Animal Crossing games, you'll have to discern which works are real and which are fake. You can donate art to Blathers' museum.
- April 23rd-May 4th - Nature Day - during this period, you'll get special Nook Miles challenges that focus on nature-themed goals like planting trees.
- May 1st-May 7th - May Day Tour - in the first week of May, you can use a special May Day Ticket to go on a limited-time island tour. Nintendo is promising a "special visitor" who looks familiar.
- May 18th-May 31st - International Museum Day - you'll be given a special stamp card with which to collect all kinds of stamps at museum exhibits. There will be an in-game reward for collecting them.
- June 1st-June 30th - Wedding Season - you can visit Harvey's island to meet married couple Reese and Cyrus, as well as taking some snaps with them in the wedding picture studio. You'll also get some wedding-themed stuff.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available to buy right now on Nintendo Switch. A recent datamine of the game found new museum upgrades, extra items, and other stuff, so take a look if you're that way inclined.
