Way back in July we reported that Aksys Games was bringing the Nihon-Falcom title Tokyo Xanadu to the west on both PlayStation Vita, and PC. That being said, Aksys's AnimeExpo announcement left us with a few questions; what about the (then recently announced, now released in Japan) enhanced PlayStation 4 port, Tokyo Xanadu eX+? Will the game be receiving a dub, dual-audio, or just Japanese voices? When will the game be released - besides a vague "Early 2017" date? What about a Limited Edition? Today, most of those questions have been answered in a PlayStation Blog post uploaded by Aksys themselves.

First things first - the PlayStation 4 port is coming, albeit at a later date, and the PC release will be based on the PlayStation 4 version of the title as well. Tokyo Xanadu (Vita) now has a release window of "Summer 2017", and the newly announced Tokyo Xanadu eX+ (PS4/PC) is aiming for "Fall". Both the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 4 versions of the title will have Limited Edition releases, with both of them featuring mostly the same contents (art book, soundtrack CD, "Blade" Card Game deck) with both the PlayStation Vita and the PlayStation 4 Limited Edition having their own "exclusive" pack-ins as well - a "Morimaru Plush" for the PlayStation Vita Limited Edition, and a "9 in. Deluxe White Shroud Statue" for the PlayStation 4 release. All releases of the title will be Japanese audio only.

Much like we explained with the title's initial announcement, Tokyo Xanadu is an Action RPG by Nihon-Falcom, released to Japan in late 2015. Players control a party of Highschoolers that work together to protect a changed Tokyo from the world of Eclipse - a shadow world that led to an Earthquake that devastated Tokyo a decade before the events of the game. Although they're technically part of the same series, Tokyo Xanadu shares little to no similarities with Xanadu Next, the title localized by XSEED Games late last year. Tokyo Xanadu eX+, the PS4 release, features content and improvements to the gameplay, story, and performance of the title that the PlayStation Vita release will lack even in the west.

We'll be sure to keep you up to date on the status of Tokyo Xanadu (and Tokyo Xanadu eX+) in the west as more information comes in.
