THQ Nordic and Yuke's have announced the AEW: Fight Forever release date. The scrappy challenger to the 2K WWE throne is launching across PC and consoles on June 29th, bringing with it a roster full of AEW wrestling talent and plenty of game modes to grapple with.

AEW: Fight Forever was originally unveiled in August 2022 after the name of the game was revealed by an AEW wrestler in May of that year. Now, AEW star Kenny Omega is featured in a brand new release date announcement trailer that reveals the arcade wrestling sim's release date. You can check in with Omega and learn more about AEW: Fight Forever in that very trailer right here.

Omega says the goal with AEW: Fight Forever was to develop an "arcade experience" that was easy to pick up, difficult to master, and, above all, fun. That sounds about right given that the game is being developed by Yuke's, the Japanese studio responsible for the WWE video game series right up until 2018's WWE 2K19.

Naturally, AEW: Fight Forever will feature an extensive roster of AEW wrestlers, many of whose names you'll probably know from WWE. We don't have the full roster yet, but if every current AEW wrestler is featured, you can expect names like Billy Gunn, Chris Jericho, and the Hardys, as well as female talent like Diamante and Hikaru Shida. We'll have to wait and see who makes the cut.

Gameplay modes to look forward to in AEW: Fight Forever include standard single and tag-team matches, as well as ladder matches, Falls Count Anywhere bouts, and the brilliantly-named Exploding Barbed Wire Death match. If you're not feeling the WWE 2K games these days, AEW: Fight Forever looks like it's going to offer a pretty decent alternative. The game launches on June 29th for PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
