Nintendo has announced an Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp delay. The strategy remake collection was originally due to launch this December, but unfortunately, you won't be able to get your hands on it until next year now.

When is the new Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp release date?

Per an announcement on the official Nintendo of America Twitter page, the new Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp release date will land in spring next year. We don't have a more specific date than that, unfortunately. Nintendo says the delay is due to the developers needing "a little more time for fine tuning". There's no more specific information than this regarding the reason for this Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp delay, so it looks like we'll just have to wait a little longer to play these games.

When it lands, Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp will offer reimagined versions of the first two Advance Wars titles.

What is Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp?

Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp was originally announced earlier this year. It packs in remakes of turn-based strategy title Advance Wars and its followup, Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising, complete with updated visuals and gameplay. Like the original games, there will be single-player campaigns to check out, and you'll also be able to engage in multiplayer skirmishes with your friends. Each player picks a CO (commanding officer) from one of the two games and faces off against their opponent, using CO powers, allied base funds, and fog of war to dictate the flow of battle.

Don't worry if you loved the originals; Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp will retain their cartoony art style.

It's a shame we won't be seeing this Advance Wars remaster before Christmas as was originally intended, but hey; delays aren't bad news. High-profile games like CD Projekt Red's next-gen versions of The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 have recently been delayed (like the original game probably should have been), along with From Software's hotly-anticipated Elden Ring. Between those games and the Advance Wars remasters, 2022 really is shaping up to be the year of the delayed game. We'll bring you more on Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp, including a new potential release date, as soon as we get it.
