A Game Boy classic is coming to the Switch with a fresh new look: Advance Wars: 1+2 Re-Boot Camp is going to get tactical on the Nintendo Switch later this year.
The Advance Wars games originally brought turn-based tactics to Nintendo's handheld Game Boy Advance console. You're tasked with either eliminating the entire enemy army or capturing its headquarters.
It's a challenging task and it's a lot of fun, but it's probably been a long time since anyone played the originals. That's all about to change — check out the Advance Wars: 1+2 Re-Boot Camp trailer to see this remaster in action!
Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp bundles Advance Wars and Advance Wars 2: Black Hole Rising into one package. This isn't a straight port, though — the Game Boy Advance graphics have gotten a serious overhaul for the Nintendo Switch.
A game like this is perfect for multiplayer, too. It was a feature in the original game and it returns here, too — up to four players will be able to battle it out on a number of different maps from the original game (Naturally, the campaigns from the first two games are included, too.).
When is the Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp Release Date?
The Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp release date is December 3, 2021. That's right — this surprising Advance Wars remaster will be coming before Christmas 2021!
It's certainly nice to see the original Advance Wars game getting a fresh coat of paint in a little under 20 years since they were first released. You can pre-order this Advance Wars remaster on the Nintendo eShop right now for $59.99 or your regional equivalent.
