Nikola Todorvoic, the single developer and publisher behind action-horror roguelike Mortal Sin, has announced that his title will be published on Steam in Q1 2022.

Don't know what Mortal Sin is? Well, you have to "strategically dismember" monsters in order to survive. While exploring an interestingly detailed (and randomly generated each playthrough) world that is doing its best to kill you, you'll discover powerful weapons and magic to help you in your quest to destroy monsters in this hack and slasher.

Even if you don't dig the art style, I think we can all agree that it's very memorable. The game was inspired by graphic novels, which makes me wonder which graphic novels Todorovic is referencing.

While playing you'll also be able to knock enemies into environmental hazards and traps, traverse different paths in an open-ended game world, and use items, spells, and perks for "endless gameplay variety." I'm not too sure about that, but the combat does look fairly satisfying and should keep hack and slash enthusiasts entertained.

For those wanting something somewhat similar while waiting for Mortal Sin, there's titles such as Unto The EndGori: Cuddly Carnage, and Pagan Online might interest you... or not. Mortal Sin looks to be a unique title if nothing else, so we'll have to see if it lives up to its promises.
