Assassin's Creed Unity has had an ... interesting launch cycle since it was originally released. The game was widely panned for its lack of bug fixing, and being unable to run on most anything due to the problems it had - and if it did run for you for a bit random bugs were all over the place of various severity. As was previously reported by our Luigi Savinelli, Ubisoft has been working to fix the numerous issues with the game.

Patch 4 had been highly awaited before it was announced to be delayed ... on the same day they had promised it would be released. Then I guess they worked out some magic, decided that them saying a few days more being only a very rough estimate wasn't really a warning and had it out yesterday for people to get.

Now for PS4 users, it seems Patch 4 is a hit. I haven't seen any reports of issues with it and it has improved performance there. It fixes some bugs and has done so well - you can see the full list of fixes for the 6.7 GB Patch here. It will be out on PC Later this week.

And yes, it is a 6.7 GB patch... or at least its supposed to be as it is replacing and updating large portions of the Paris Map, to make it work. However, XBox One users found themselves being asked to download 40 GB instead of 6.7GB.

It is, according to Ubisoft, an issue with the Patch downloading process and re-download the whole 40GB of the game. On the bright side, after waiting hours, spending a ton of bandwidth, and such you will have the most up-to-date version of the game. The only known workaround for it is for owners of the disc version of the game who can uninstall the game and re-install it, with the patch process starting with the proper sizes. Do note, that uninstalling the game does not affect your save file so you should be fine to do that.

What are your opinions on Assassin's Creed: Unity? Has it become a playable game with Ubisoft's patches? Is there a limit to the size you would download for a patch to get a game working?
