Abiotic Factor developer Deep Field Games has acknowledged one of the game's major ongoing connection issues and has pledged to release a fix in time for the next major Community Update.
In a post on the official Abiotic Factor X (formerly Twitter) account, Deep Field provides some steps to try out if you're experiencing the "Fleming" error - or, indeed, any other error - when trying to join a friend's Abiotic Factor game.
The steps are pretty simple; either get the host and clients to restart Abiotic Factor, or have the host player restart their entire PC. It doesn't seem like client players need to take this step, however.
Deep Field says that if neither of these fixes work for you, then a "long-term fix" is also in the works, and it should be implemented by the time Community Update 2 rolls around.
We don't know quite when that will be just yet, but as a reminder, Community Update 1 launched back in May, just three weeks after Abiotic Factor itself was released. It added features like difficulty tweaks, save backups, and more.
Recently, however, Deep Field did provide a first look at what's coming when Community Update 2 does arrive, and it'll bring features like difficulty options during world creation, new aquarium items, and more storage options.
Community Updates are not seemingly on the same level as major content drops like August's Crush Depth update, but that makes them the perfect home for fixes like the one in the works for the aforementioned connectivity problem.
If you're wondering exactly what Abiotic Factor is, it's a survival-crafter set in an underground research station overrun with paranormal horrors.
You (and, optionally, up to five of your friends) must build a base from which to sally forth, gather resources, and investigate what's happening to the station. Just try not to die along the way!
Deep Field's game has proven pretty popular indeed; less than two weeks out from launch, it hit 250,000 sales, reaching the 600,000 mark just a couple of months later.
Abiotic Factor is available right now on PC via Steam Early Access. Stay tuned for more on this one.
