Halo: Combat Evolved will celebrate its fifteenth birthday this coming Tuesday, and franchise custodians 343 Industries will not be letting the occasion pass by unnoticed. Releasing a teaser trailer along with the announcement, 343 will be hosting a livestream at 3:43 PM Pacific Time on their Twitch feed. They will be going into Halo franchise memories, touring their on-site Halo museum, and even playing some Halo 5 with fans.

Of course, no celebration of Halo would be complete without a bit of nostalgia for the original Xbox days, and 343 is delivering in that regard as well. The long awaited Anniversary Throwback playlist will debut on Tuesday, featuring classic maps reimagined in Halo 5's forge and game types with Halo: Combat Evolved pistol starts. This playlist has been inevitable ever since the M6D was put into the game, and there are many Combat Evolved fans who will be sitting on their couches as much as possible to experience it throughout the day.

Halo fans of all stripes are encouraged to log into Halo 5 on Tuesday, as there will also be a free drop of unspecified goodies to start off your party right. They also encourage fans to share their Halo memories on Tuesday with the hashtag #15YearsofHalo. Considering that Tuesday is also the 15th anniversary of Xbox, it is unclear if there will be any platform-centric events going on at the same time.

Quick Take

Fifteen years. That's a real easy way to make someone feel old. Halo: Combat Evolved is the game that made me the enthusiast I am today, and I can assure you that there will be many three shots to be had as Tuesday keeps rolling along. I'm hopeful that 343 has an even bigger surprise to pull out considering that the last content update was several months ago at this point, but even just the Throwback playlist is enough to make this Halo fan enthused.

What are your memories of Halo? What are your plans for Tuesday? Will you be celebrating the anniversary of Brute Force next year? Sound off in the comments below!
