Ghost Parade, a 2D sidescroller from Indonesian studio Lentera, will be released in 2019 for PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Publishing for the game will be handled by old hands Aksys, who localize games like BlazBlueGuilty Gear, and Arcana Heart.

Ghost Parade first appeared on Steam Greenlight back when that service was still running, where it was successfully Greenlit by the community. Greenlight was retired back in June last year, though, which may explain why it's taken Ghost Parade a little time to reappear on our radars.

The game's official website describes it as "an adventure game with unique gameplay and updatable stories", whatever that might mean. The site promises a "beautiful, magical and mythical atmosphere" in which players will "[befriend] many mythical ghosts inside the forest to guide [them]".

Details about the actual game are quite scant, although it seems to be a multimedia property not unlike Yokai Watch, with the official website selling merchandise like T-shirts, bags, and printed encyclopedias, as well as linking to several webcomics (in Indonesian). Players will take control of nine-year-old Suri, a girl who is "lost in a forest and [trying] to get back home". The ghosts in the game will not be "foul and frightening", according to Lentera, but "funny and kind", with "wicked and evil men" proving the real threat to Suri and her newfound friends.

Gameplay-wise, the official Ghost Parade website promises crafting elements, combo attacks with different parties of ghosts, "unique bosses in every episode", and more. Ghost Parade will boast Steam API features including cloud saving and achievements, a "charming 2D art style infused with cultural elements" and "updatable episodes". It's not yet clear whether that last item means there will be DLC for the game, or that the actual story itself will be changed by updates.

Other than that, there isn't much out there right now about Ghost Parade. There's no gameplay footage available online yet, but it's early days, so expect a more fleshed-out account of the game as we get closer to a concrete release date.
