AnimeExpo 2016 - Interview With Geraint Evans of PQube Games (Gal*Gun: Double Peace)

Back during the 4th of July weekend, I got the chance to sit down and talk to Geraint Evans from PQube Games about their upcoming localized release, Gal*Gun: Double Peace. The game is a sequel to a Japan-only Xbox 360/PS3 title and is best described as a very tongue-in-cheek Anime House of the Dead. Although many players probably initially expected this PS4/Vita title to never make it overseas, the title should actually end up releasing at the end of this month in both the UK and North America.

During the convention, Evans actually co-hosted an 18+ panel with Matt Papa (of Inti Creates) and one of the series' creators from Japan, discussing the game. Besides going over some interesting tidbits about the localization—like the fact that Matt translated the entire game on his own, or the especially hilarious submission to the ESRB—various facts about the series' original development and potential future were shared. It was even hinted that if this title were to do especially well, that the West might yet see the first game in the series in the future. One avenue that the developers back in Japan want to pursue for a possible sequel involves using Virtual Reality headsets like PlayStation VR.

Gal*Gun: Double Peace releases later this week in the West on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The western release remains unchanged from the Japanese release, aside from the obvious English translation. Alongside the standard editions for each platform, PQube is also releasing a very special "Mr. Happiness" Limited Edition that, among other bonuses, includes a very limited edition "screen cleaner" pair of Gal*Gun branded panties. The Limited Edition is available on both platforms.

What are your thoughts on Gal*Gun's imminent western release? Will you be picking up one of it's English versions when it releases this month?
