The Game Awards 2016 is coming December 1 (tomorrow). Industry veterans and newbies alike will get together in the hopes of receiving the nod for years of hard work, but that's not all that's going to be going down at this particular industry event. Quite a few games will be debuting brand new footage for their respective titles. Here's what you can look forward to seeing at The Game Awards 2016!

Starting things off, DOOM composer Mick Gordon will be joined by fellow composers Sascha Dikiciyan and Matt Halpern in a live performance of the soundtrack from Bethesda and iD's revival of the classic first person shooter.

Lawbreakers, an upcoming first person shooter by Boss Key Productions and Nexon, will be making some announcements about their title. The game's developers are being rather tight-lipped about what they'll be showing off, but they've stated that they will spend the days leading up to the event teasing what's to come.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be bringing an exclusive look at the latest entry in one of Nintendo's oldest and longest-running franchises. Nintendo hasn't clearly stated when exactly the game is going to launch, but rumors suggest that the title won't be ready in time for the release of the Nintendo Switch in March 2017.

Mass Effect: Andromeda will be showcasing gameplay for the first time. The next title in the Mass Effect series recently revealed a new race: the Kett, a race of creatures featuring an ominous carapace design who will be well-positioned to serve as antagonists for the player and their allies. The game is expected to release in March 2017, although EA has stated that they may delay if they feel this particular bun needs a little more time in the oven.

Prey will be showing the worldwide debut of gameplay for the first person shooter revival. This game seems to be a reboot of the original title of the same name. Bethesda's take on the game will be a first-person experience with some serious elements of survival horror. Prey initially premiered at E3.

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Series - A New Frontier (which just recently had its release date announced as December 20th) will be debuting an extended look at gameplay from the first episode of Season 3. The game will focus on a young man by the name of Javier searching for his family. Clementine will nonetheless feature in the game in the capacity of a background character at the very least.

Games aside, a few notable celebrities and personalities will be attending. Michael Phelps will be presenting Best eSports Player. One of the more interesting appearances at The Game Awards 2016 can best be encapsulated by this cheeky tweet from the event's official Twitter account:

This is by no means a comprehensive list of the games and other special features that we'll be seeing at The Game Awards 2016. Geoff Keighley has explicitly stated that there are "multiple world premieres" coming, each featuring at least 5 minutes of actual gameplay. Although quite a few have been announced, Mr. Keighley has added that "others will be surprises." There's a handful of rumors or other odd coincidences out there such as the fact that Randy Pitchford will be making some sort of announcement on December 1st, the same day as The Game Awards.

There's a lot more excitement and interesting news to come for The Game Awards 2016! We recently detailed the nominees for the awards themselves, which included the removal of Another Metroid 2 Remake and Pokemon Uranium from the Best Fan Creation category.
