This guide tells you how the Sugardew Island crafting system works, how to unlock more crafting recipes, and what it costs to craft items.

You can see all of your crafting materials in your backpack and storage at the top right of the screen when you're using the Workbench.

How Crafting Works

The Sugardew Island crafting system is about what you'd expect. As long as you have the materials, you can walk up to the Workbench outside of your house and instantly make items with no waste time.

One of the most important items you can craft is Energy Bars. While you can purchase them from the merchant, it's much cheaper to plant Carrots and Wheat on your farm to grow them. An ample supply of Energy Bars will allow you to keep working on your fields for longer periods.

Most of the items you can craft aside from tools are floor tiles and fences; these can be used to decorate floor tiles on your farm and prevent weeds, stone, and wood from growing. If you decide to remove them, you can also sell these floor tiles and fences in your Store.

How to Unlock New Crafting Recipes

Most of the crafting recipes are unlocked at the start of the game. However, crafting recipes for tools and building upgrades must be unlocked by completing quests.

Fences and floor tiles can be placed to prevent weeds, stones, and trees from appearing on your farm. They can also be used for decoration.
