Our STALKER 2 Black Sheep Mission Walkthrough explains how to find Lefty and Blizzard and how to get the best reward for this side mission at STC Malachite.

STALKER 2 has its fair share of challenging main story missions such as Back to the Slag Heap, but there's also a robust selection of side mission content that you can explore. One of these missions has you trudging through the swamps between the Malachite and Garbage regions on the map — read on to learn all about the Black Sheep side mission in STC Malachite!

How to get the STALKER 2 Black Sheep Mission

You can get the STALKER 2 Black Sheep mission by heading to STC Malachite in the Malachite region on the western side of the map. You'll need to get your hands on a Malachite Pass in order to get into the building. You must then speak with Viktoria Dorozhnyuk and ask her if she has any work available.

STALKER 2 Black Sheep Mission Walkthrough

Our STALKER 2 Black Sheep mission walkthrough will guide you through the objectives and the three choices that you must make during this mission.

Preparing for the Black Sheep Mission

At the bare minimum, you'll have to face off against a few human enemies and one Bloodsucker mutant for the Black Sheep mission in STALKER 2. Therefore, you should aim to equip yourself with a rifle or SMG for the humans and a shotgun for the one Bloodsucker. As always, you'll want to ensure that you bring along plenty of healing items and a bit of food, too.

The Black Sheep mission is a multi-part side mission and you'll have the opportunity to refill your supplies and rest after you complete the first two objectives. Naturally, you can return back to STC Malachite or any other base on the map whenever you need, too.

It should be noted that there is an anomaly group that can spawn an artifact directly to the east of STC Malachite; you should pick it up on your way out to the first objective. If you do it early enough, you might be able to get another artifact when you turn this mission in to complete it!

Find Lefty's Group

You start with two objectives in the STALKER 2 Black Sheep mission and we'll go with the nominally easier one — finding Lefty's Group. Head to the marker on the map and have a rifle ready — unfortunately, you'll find that Lefty's group has been turned into zombies.

Kill the zombie Lefty and his former companions; loot them if you wish. You'll also be subjected to psychic attacks while you're in the area, although I haven't managed to find a source for them. Simply put, you want to complete your objective and get out of here as fast as you possibly can.

Grab the flash drive off of Lefty's body and then head to the dock outside. Get the data you need and you'll complete your objective. You should immediately leave the area to avoid any of the negative consequences from the psi attack in the area.

Find Zhenya Blizzard

Zhenya Blizzard is at a different location a few hundred meters south. The good news is that he's alive. The bad news is that he's under attack by a Bloodsucker and he can die if you don't save him.

Get to within approximately 100 meters of the objective and save your game. Then, run toward the objective and you'll find Blizzard with his back to the wall in a small underground tunnel. He immediately asks for your help as he is under attack by a Bloodsucker.

You should stand at the opening of the tunnel to keep the Bloodsucker's attention on you and off of Blizzard. You may end up taking the occasional bullet from Blizzard, but you get a better reward if he doesn't die.

There are two possible outcomes to this part of the STALKER 2 Black Sheep mission:

• Blizzard Survives: You'll get 800 Coupons from him for saving his life.
• Blizzard Dies: You'll be able to loot Blizzard; you'll also have to pick up the Suitcase Full of Bones and bring it back to Victoria.

Regardless of the outcome here, you'll also get 900 Coupons from Victoria for completing this particular objective. I think it's better to save Blizzard's life, personally. You never know when someone you helped will show up again later, just like how Solder makes a reappearance in a later story mission.

Turning in the Mission

Return to STC Malachite and turn in both objectives to Viktoria Dorozhnyuk. She'll pay you for completing the objectives. When you think you're done, she'll get a radio communication from a nearby scientist and she asks you to help.

Talk to Trachuk

Head to the next objective marker and you'll meet a man named Trachuk. He tells you that he was doing a scientific survey and a bunch of anomalies suddenly appeared inside of the building he's in. He asks you to retrieve his flash drive for him.

Getting Trachuk's Flash Drive

Trachuk's flash drive is on the upper floor of the warehouse which is filled with anomalies. Here's the route that you need to take to get to it:

1. Head to the southeast side of the building and go inside.
2. Turn left and walk up the fallen door to get onto the containers.
3. Walk over to the crane and turn left.
4. Walk along the upper windowsill to the west.
5. Jump up onto the broken catwalk.
6. Exit to the west.

Don't drop down to the ground just yet, though — there's a nasty surprise waiting for you downstairs.

Fighting the Ward (or Not)

Crouch walk out the door and you'll notice something rather suspicious to the east:

A Ward soldier and scientist are waiting to ambush you about 30 meters away to the east. If you drop down, they'll run up on you and demand that you hand over the flash drive.

There are two options, each with its own outcome:

• Kill the Ward: Allows you to make another choice with Trachuk, and you'll get 4,800 coupons from Viktoria.
• Give the Flash Drive to the Ward: The Ward walks away with the flash drive and you get no reward from Viktoria.

Obviously, the Ward absconding with the flash drive (and, as a consequence, your reward) is less than ideal. Fortunately, you can snipe the both of them from the balcony you're on and minimize your risk.

Dealing with Trachuk

If you kill the Ward, you'll then have to deal with Trachuk. You essentially have three options:

• Ask about Trickster and Blackmail Trachuk: You can blackmail Trachuk out of an extra 2,000 Coupons before handing him the flash drive. You'll get this in addition to your normal reward of 4,800 Coupons from Viktoria.
• Give the Flash Drive to Trachuk: Give the flash drive to Trachuk with no hassle. Viktoria will give you 4,800 Coupons upon your return.
• Kill Trachuk: If you kill Trachuk (or he dies), you'll have to take the flash drive off of his body and deliver it to Viktoria. She'll be sad that Trachuk is dead, but she will still pay you 4,800 Coupons. (If you intend on killing Trachuk deliberately, you should blackmail him first and then kill him.)

As a general rule, I personally don't like killing people where it's avoidable; Solder returned to help me later and who knows if Trachuk will help you out later on down the line. The choice is ultimately yours, though, so make your choice and get ready to move again.

Returning to Viktoria

With the flash drive secured, it's time to return to Viktoria at STC Malachite. Have another conversation with her and she'll conclude the mission and give you your final reward (if any).
