While you'll start with some basic equipment in Smalland, crafting new armor is a must if you want to take on harder enemies and bosses. How to Craft Armor in Smalland
Unlike weapons and tools, armor cannot be crafted on your own. Instead, you must talk to various NPCs dotted around the map. Each NPC (if they craft armor) will have their own specialty, giving you access to different sets across a number of material types. After talking to an NPC and requesting crafting for the first time, you can press C when targeting them then F to move straight to the crafting screen.
Armor is split into head, body, hand, and leg pieces, though the initial sets do not come with a craftable headpiece. The Regal and Ironwing body pieces allow the used to glide while in the air by pressing Space. While this does allow you to fall slowly in the air or cross gaps not possible on land, gliding still uses stamina.
Best Smalland Armor
The best armor currently available is the Ironwing armor set crafted by Nok. Not only does it boast high protection to both damage and the cold, the Ironwing Breasplate also allows the user to fly. Due to this armorset's material requirements, you wont be able to get this until very late in the current Early Access version of Smalland. An earlier choice that also allows for gliding is the Regal set, crafted by Drustana.
