Lapras EX Event Tips
Watch your Stamina
For the first time battles have Stamine, to participate in a battle will cost one Stamina but that Stamina does NOT get consumed if you lose the match. If you lose or surrender you can just restart the battle. Stamina will recharge every 12 hours like all other timers in the game, completing the Battle Tasks of the Beginner and Intermediate battles will earn you 12 Event Hourglasses.
Unlike normal hourglasses where 1 Hourglass = 1 hour of recharge time the Event Hourglasses will recharge a full attempt.
Forfeit if you aren't going to complete all Battle Tasks
For the early levels you can complete all Battle Tasks in a single attempt, but will be potentially wasting stamina if you have to complete the same early battle multiple times. If you don't think you're going to meet all criteria, like defeating the battle in under 14 turns, then surrender and start again. This will allow you to maintain your stamina to keep your attempts at this event as efficient as possible.
What are the best cards/decks to use against Lapras EX?
An easy choice is a deck built around Pikachu EX, who only needs 2 Lightning Energy to use Circle Circuit. This damage does 30 for each of your benched Pokemon. It's easy to get enough Pokemon on your bench in turn 2 to be dealing 90 damage consistently. Pikachu EX also has 120 health so it will be able to hold it's own for more than enough time. You have a chance to pull Pikachu from the Genetic Apex (A1) Pikachu pack.
Pikachu EX is a four-star rarity card so if you are using it you won't be able to complete the Battle Tasks that require only 1, 2, or 3 Rarity. It has also been noticed that if you are using the alternate art of a lower rarity card you won't be able to unlock these Battle Tasks. Make sure you're using the base artwork.
Other powerful electric Pokemon to build a deck around would be Zapdos and Magneton, but neither of them have the speed that Pikachu EX has to be dealing 90 damage on turn 2.
Do higher difficulties ensure better cards or more packs?
There are no listed chances for any of the Promo cards or for what their chances are to receive a card from playing a battle. The event text specifies:
One of the following cards, chosen randomly, will be included in the promo packs you can obtain from this event
This seems to indicate that with each pack you open there's a 1/5 chance you'll get any of these cards. There is also no listing anywhere that indicates that you'll have a higher chance of earning a pack by completing the battles at a higher difficulty.
