In the Paldea Region there is plenty to look forward to exploring. From the tops of mountains to the bottom of caves you can search every nook and cranny for Pokemon, items, and more. One thing that you might be surprised to come across are glowing Black Stakes holding back the Legendary Pokemon of this region. In this Pokemon Ting-Lu Black Stake Guide we'll show you the locations of all Black Stakes to unlock Ting-Lu.
What are the Black Stakes in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?
There are four sets of different colored Black Stakes, each corresponding to a different sealed Shrine hidden in Paldea. The Shrine that is located in the North-West of the map is the Groundblight Shrine and it contains the legendary Pokemon Ting-Lu.
After removing the eight green Black Stakes you'll be able to battle Ting-Lu. This is a level 60 encounter so be sure you're prepared but don't worry as whether you knock out Ting-Lu or Ting-Lu defeats your team you can return to rebattle it after an hour.

Ting-Lu Legendary Pokemon Battle
Name: Ting-Lu
Level: 60
Type: Dark/Ground
Ability: Vessel of Ruin - The power of the Pokemon's ruinous vessel lowers the Sp. Atk stats of all Pokemon except itself
Moves: Stomping Tantrum, Ruination, Throat Chop, Rock Slide
The two tricky moves that Ting-Lu has at their disposal is Stomping Tantrum, which does extra damage if their previous move failed, and Throat Chop that prevents the target from using sound based moves. So just… don't do that? As with all the Legendary Pokemon the Ruination move will always sap exactly half your health so keep an eye out for that too.
While Ruination is a painful move to have used against you if you're trying to safely get the Pokemon down to a low enough health to increase your chance of capture having a Pokemon that can use Ruination yourself is an excellent way to play it safe.
