While trainers are just setting out on their Pokemon Scarlet and Violet adventure and encountering Wooper and Flamigo it's hard not to think about what Pokemon you'll be encountering on your journey. In this Legendary, Paradox, and Gift Pokemon Guide we'll go over each Legendary Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet and how to get them.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Legendary Pokemon

How to get Koraidon and Miraidon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

Koraidon and Miraidon are the box Legendary Pokemon for Scarlet and Violet respectively. Unlike previous Pokemon games you get access to Koraidon and Miraidon at the very beginning of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet but there is a twist. For the majority of your adventure Koraidon and Miraidon serve as your ride Pokemon, a Pokemon that you can use to run, jump, swim, and climb your way across the Paldea Region.

To be able to use Koraidon and Miraidon in battle you need to complete a story event that occurs during the True Ending of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

How do I get a second Koraidon or Miraidon in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

After completing the True Ending of the game return to the location where the climax took place. Circle clockwise around the structure to find a second Legendary Koraidon or Miraidon ready to battle. This Pokemon will be the same as your box legendary, but you can use it to trade with a friend for the opposite Legendary. The Legendary Pokemon that you encounter will be Level 72.

What is the Legendary Disk Pokemon?

While not accessible in the base game there are references to a Disk Pokemon that was spotted in Area Zero. We get a glitched out/redacted description of encountering it, and an illustration from the Scarlet/Violet book.

How to obtain the four Ruinous Legendary Pokemon

Across Paldea you'll come across Black Stakes that glow with different colors and large chained doorways. These all tie into a quest to unseal the Ruinous Pokemon that were locked up hundreds of years ago. Each of these Ruinous Pokemon is trapped in their respective shrine in a different quadrant of the map.

"HEREIN LIE SEALED THE RUINOUS"

The Ruinous Pokemon are as follows

In order to unseal these Pokemon you need to locate eight Black Stakes of the matching color in their quadrant and then interact with the unlocked shrine to initiate battle.

How to find the Black Stakes in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet?

If you want to know the exact locations for each of the Black Stakes then be sure to check out our guides on How To Catch Wo-Chien, Chien-Pao, Ting-Lu, and Chi-Yu or if you want to hunt down the Black Stakes for yourself then you can use the following tips:

  • The Black Stakes for each Pokemon appear in their respective quadrant of the map
  • Once you unlock the final Black Stake you'll get notified to check the Shrine
  • The Shrine locations can be added to your map for completing History Classes at the Academy
  • The Black Stakes are usually not visible from at least one side. Instead of just checking the top of a plateau check each of the different landings across its side
  • Don't worry about searching the whole mountain, there is only one Black Stake that rests in snow and it's close to a grassy area

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Paradox Pokemon

Through the story you'll gain access to a new region of Paldea known as Area Zero. This is part of the True Ending of the game. Inside Area Zero are Paradox Pokemon, a breed of Pokemon that shouldn't be around in the present day, but are clearly ancestors/descendants of Pokemon that we're familiar with.

  • If you purchased Pokemon Scarlet the Paradox Pokemon you encounter in Area Zero are Ancient Pokemon.
  • If you purchased Pokemon Violet the Paradox Pokemon you encounter in Area Zero are Future Pokemon

When you first enter Area Zero it will be for story purposes so you can't do much to deviate from the path but after when you return you can explore the region at your leisure and catch the Paradox Pokemon
