The Planet Crafter lets you explore the world using Teleporters and Portals, but the Rover Update added a somewhat more mundane style of travel: vehicles. Vehicles have their own unique abilities and they're great for multiplayer — read on to learn all about vehicles in The Planet Crafter!

How to Get The Planet Crafter Vehicles

You can unlock The Planet Crafter vehicles by progressing Terraformation to 11.00 MTi. This will unlock the Vehicle Station which you can then place on the ground.

The Vehicle Station serves three functions:

• It allows you to build vehicles.
• It allows you to craft Vehicle Microchips for upgrading vehicles.
• It allows you to recall vehicles to the Vehicle Station.

Naturally, you'll have to craft a Vehicle using materials before you use it. The cheapest vehicle is the Rover and, fortunately, it doesn't require any seriously advanced materials beyond Uranium and Fabric.

How to Upgrade Vehicles

You can upgrade vehicles in The Planet Crafter by building Vehicle Microchips at the Vehicle Station. You must then install the Vehicle Microchips in the appropriate compartment in the vehicle you wish to upgrade.

As with your backpack, vehicle upgrades include larger inventory, more upgrade slots, faster speed, headlights, and more.

How to Recall a Vehicle

You can recall a vehicle by interacting with the right-hand console on the Vehicle Station.

Rover

Rover Crafting Recipe

• 2 Rocket Engine
• 1 Uranium
• 1 Iron
• 1 Fabric
• 1 Silicon

Here are the functions of the Rover as indicated by the above image:

1. Cockpit: This is where you enter and exit the Rover.
2. Equipment Bay: This is where you can place upgrades for the Rover.
3. Jump Seats: These seats allow additional players to ride along, albeit outside of the vehicle.
4. Storage: This is the storage for the Rover.
5. Grab Button: Pressing this button shrinks the Rover into an inventory item that you can carry in your backpack. You can then use it and deploy it anywhere with enough space.
6. Beacon Color: If you've installed a beacon, this panel on the right side allows you to change the color of the Rover's Beacon.

The Rover is a 3-person vehicle that can drive along the ground. It has a small amount of storage, but it can be upgraded to carry significantly more than you can on your person.
