An unknown evil is afoot in the Elderwood, and the newest NPC knows what's causing it. The final main story quest available in patch 0.191, Something Wicked sheds further light on just how dire the situation you've stumbled upon truly is. Use this guide to complete Something Wicked with ease in Palia.
Palia | Something Wicked Quest Guide
Something Wicked begins as soon as Like a Shiprunt resolves. Head back to the Elderwood Central Stables and chat with Subira to learn more about the Echo infection that's spread through the forest. She gives you two items to review, the Elderwood Lab Results and the Hunter's Diary. While the Lab results can be a bit tedious to read through, the diary really highlights the plight currently facing you.

Once read, Subira will explain in plain terms what the results mean. Wondering where the infection is spreading from, it's very core, Ulfe appears with an answer. The Zendruu Tree, one of the large trees capable of supporting homes and other structures, located in the currently blocked off area of the map, is where the Infected Essence originates. This is where the main village is located, and most likely, Ulfe's home.
After the dialogue completes, meet Subira and Ulfe at the barrier found in the Central Stables. Talk with Ulfe to start another dialogue. It's revealed that the barrier cannot be breeched as the aura is too strong. Both you and Subira land on the idea of using the staff, the Cosmos Protocol, to get through, but there's another wrench thrown into the works.
Jina and Hekla are unreachable. Hekla's Flow network is missing. Left to guard the Night Sky Temple, now referred to as the Cosmos Temple, and the staff, Subira is worried something horrid has happened to them. Leave the Elderwood and head back to Kilima Valley to check on the duo.

Upon arrival a brief cutscene will play. You find Jina and Hekla unconscious and the Cosmos Protocol Staff missing from the beam of light in the center of the temple. The color of the light has darkened, now bearing the color of Echo instead of Flow. You wake Jina and Hekla and learn they didn't see who they were attacked by. You can chat with them again to gain a portion of Mushroom Soup for you and Subira. After a private conversation with the Watcher, she asks you to meet her in the Elderwood Central Stables. If you have her portion of soup, she won't accept it at this time.
Head back to the forest for what may be the final conversation with Subira for some time. Give her the soup and let her talk. With no further clues or leads to follow, the investigation is at a standstill. She rewards you for your help with the Piksii Grove and Infected Essence x500. She also lets you know that she's opening shop, funnily enough next to Tamala's stand, to provide you with items she found while exploring the Elderwood. That ends Something Wicked and the current main story quest line.
Subira's Goods Inventory

Subira's store is filled with Grab Bags that you can purchase. The downside is most of them are unavailable until you collect enough essence to progress through the In Essence achievement. However, Grab Bags give you the chance to obtain resources quickly and rare items without having to farm for them.
